Testing for Irlen Syndrome
The Irlen evaluation process has two parts. The first testing session is a screening to identify whether or not you have Irlen Syndrome, how severe it is, and whether or not color can help eliminate your difficulties. The correct combination of colored overlays is identified at this appointment. You will receive a set of colored overlays to use at home/school. The screening takes about 1 ½ hours to complete.
The second testing session is only for individuals who experience relief from their symptoms when using the colored overlays. In this diagnostic session, we identify the correct color filter combination that can be worn as glasses or contacts. The color of your glasses will not be the same color as your plastic overlay. The diagnostic evaluation takes about 2 ½ hours to complete.
